Beloved Father Passed Away

February 23, 2012

Each post entry on this blog builds chronologically on the ones before. Journal entries are written in italics. Comments are written in bold print. I gratefully acknowledge the sources I used to follow and understand Al’s journal and have listed them on the page, “Where to Learn More”.

Al’s poignant journal entry says it all. He was home on furlough when Ernest passed away, and was able to request an extension to deal with his family’s loss. To get a sense of their relationship, read Al’s letter from his father in the Correspondence pages.
